Day 5

Hi Corey,

Not really much has changed since yesterday and today. Which is good and bad, I guess. Good you're not getting worse :) Bad that your speedy recovery is slowing. You're stable and that is great.

James traveled back to Charleston to be with you today. He's going to be traveling every few days to be with you and to be with your mom and dad.

The Doctors are keeping you sedated. When you are awake you want to fight the breathing tube and machines and try your best to sit up. You are still expected to go into surgery on Friday but you won't have your breathing tube out by then. You saw a Respiratory Therapist today. Your lungs are still weak and have blood in them. They want you to cough and that causes you lots of pain. You've also been running and fever and as showing early signs of Pneumonia. The Doctors are doing all they can do to prevent the Pneumonia.

Since you are going to take things slow and steady until surgery, we have been telling your friends they are welcome to visit you in Charleston. I know there are lots of people anxious to see you. For anyone who wants to visit Corey, please Facebook or text Corey and we can tell you more about his location.

Continue to remember that you are loved! Since starting your website, you have has almost 2,000 page visitors. Your friends are still posting their thoughts and prayers on your Facebook page. I can't wait for you to see all the people that love you!

Stay strong Corey! We're all standing strong with you!

  1. Sarah,
Thank you so much for these updates on Corey. I know Brad, Tina, James & Corey from their days at WWBC in Michigan. I'm keeping all of you in my prayers and hope for things to continue on the positive trend for Corey. Sending hugs and love to you all, with continued prayers. Corey is definitely a fighter and I'm sure he'll appreciate all the time you're taking to journal his road to recovery.
    Love, Kim Vaughn
