Day 2

Hi Corey,

Today was much better. We got lots of great news and family moral and spirits were very high.

You have been taken off any and all blood pressure medication and you are starting to stabilize more. You are even initiating breathing on your own but still need a ventilator to help provide the amount of oxygen that your body needs.

The Doctors did confirm that you have broken your back at the T12/L1 joint. I'm not sure what that means but James says you will have bodily functions so don't worry about adult diapers :)

Great news! The Doctors and Nurses felt that you were stable enough to be taken to the other side of the hospital to have an MRI done. They didn't expect this to be done until next week. Leaps and bounds my friend! Leaps and bounds.

The comment overheard in your room this morning is that you are better than anticipated.

We are waiting on your MRI results and should know much more tomorrow once the specialists review your  MRI.

Nick came up from Savannah today with his brother. They went back to your room and spent some time with you. Nick seemed very concerned but seeing you made him feel better. What great friends Nick and his brother are.

Clay and Rachael also stopped by to see you.

Travis Moore and someone else from church that I didn't know also stopped by. They brought us lots of snacks.

Don't worry about Hammy! Reddick (or Reddit, I'm not sure) went into your apartment and is taking care of him. Brad is making sure that you don't miss a car payment AND James was able to break into your phone. He did a happy dance in the ICU Waiting Room and ran to your room to brag. I'm sure you heard him.

Tereza has been in constant communication with your dad and James. She is worried about you and is helping to keep your friends updated. James wants to make sure that she is always in the know.

And your employer has been very attentive to you. They think very highly of you as an employee and are really concerned about you.

Lastly, as James, Pam, Meredith, and PawPaw were getting ready to go to rest you began to interact with the family. James called you an "Idiot" and you looked at him and seemed excited that he was there. You looked at Pam and nodded when asked if you wanted to see PawPaw. I had already left for home at this point. But don't worry I'll be back soon :) It's awesome that you are alert and responding to the family. We're really glad to know that the Corey we all know and love is still here with us.

I'm going to start sharing your website with your friends so they can keep updated with your progression and can leave you messages for when you are able to read them. I think it's important that everyone share their love and prayers for you.

I'm looking forward to a speedy recovery. We're standing strong with you!

- Sarah
