Day 1

Corey,

I'm starting this website for you to remind you how loved you are. You have so many friends, family, and loved ones who are all sharing their thoughts and prayers. You don't even know what awesome support team you have standing with you.

I bet you don't know, but God gave you a Guardian Angel. A few days a week you smile and wave at a business man, over time creating an unspoken friendship. Wednesday morning this man watched your truck flip. He came to your aid and was the first person on the scene of the accident. You crawled out of the truck window and gave him your dad's phone number, you even told him that you were wearing your seat belt. He contacted your employer and helped gain medical responders to the crash site.

Aunt Pam, Meredith, and PawPaw drove down from Atlanta to be with you. They are a great support and it is wonderful to be surrounded by family to help filter questions, stand guard in the ICU waiting room, and provide moral and emotional support. Even though Rob and Shelby Claire couldn't be with us, they helped by finding us hotel rooms close to ICU. Even the smallest details make a huge difference right now!

In addition to family, PawPaw's cousin JR Butler stopped by to sit with us as well as old friends from Michigan who now live in Charleston. Mark Cowart came and sat with the family, answering questions and being supportive. Many of your dad's mission and Baptist Convention friends have stopped into the ICU as well. There have been so many people visiting the family that it has been hard to keep up with names.

In the ICU waiting room there is a family who have been there 12 straight days without leaving. Their son has head trama with brain swelling. The mom gave me the idea to start this website. One day you can read his story here. They have been very kind to us. There is also a North Charleston fire fighter in ICU. His station is taking turns to have someone in the ICU waiting room 24 hours until he is released.

You have severe lung damage and a spinal injury. Right now you aren't breathing on your own and a positive respirator to fully breathe for you. You aren't stabilizing as the Doctors and Nurses expected so they conducted an exploratory surgery to ensure that there are no internal injuries that we were unaware of. The Surgeon repositioned your lungs and checked all of your organs. Everything came back normal but you are still considered critical. Good news! The Nurses say that you are strong. Fighting to sit up and being irritate when awake. They had to put you into a medically induced coma to keep you from harming yourself.

People are sending their love, support, and prayers for you from all over the country. Please know that you are loved and that you have an entire army of people standing with you as we prepare to embark on a long journey to recovery.

This was posted on my Facebook right after we began asking for prayers and feeling worried about you. God provides small reminders exactly when we need them.

We love you Corey! We will stand strong with you!

 - Sarah :)

This is the responsibility of every person that they can save the life of the parents, friends and relatives. Saving a life is very much important and we all know that accidents are increasing and many people going to death just because of this. If you saw an accident or listen to something like that, it is necessary that you have to make a claim for that. Personalinjuryclaimsspecialists road traffic accident claims can secure your future.
